Terms of Service
TigerUp is in beta, and these terms may change as the service does. When they change, we'll update this page and the date below.

Who we are
TigerUp is an uptime monitoring service run by an independent developer based in the Philippines (“we”, “us”). It isn't run by a company. These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using TigerUp, you agree to them. If you use TigerUp for a business, you agree to them on that business's behalf.
The service during the beta
TigerUp checks the websites, APIs and ports you add, records the results, alerts you when a check fails and publishes status pages you choose to make public.
During the beta, TigerUp is provided “as is” and “as available”. Features may change, break or be removed. We don't promise any level of uptime, and checks or alerts can be delayed or missed. Don't rely on TigerUp as your only way of finding out that something is down.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 and able to agree to these terms.
- Use an email address you can receive mail at. We send alerts, password resets and service notices there.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account and organizations.
Acceptable use
When you use TigerUp, you agree not to:
- Monitor a website, API, server or port that you don't own or don't have permission to monitor.
- Use checks to load-test, attack, scan or probe any system, or to get around its security.
- Abuse the alert system: send alerts to email addresses or webhooks that haven't agreed to receive them, or use alerts or status pages to send spam or unrelated messages.
- Publish anything illegal, misleading or harmful on a status page.
- Try to get around plan limits, break or overload TigerUp, or access other people's data.
- Use TigerUp for anything illegal.
Your data
You own the data you put into TigerUp. You let us store and process it only to run the service for you. Anything you put on a public status page can be seen by anyone with its link. Our Privacy Policy explains what we store and for how long.
Plans and payments
- The Free plan costs nothing. Every plan has the limits shown on the pricing page, and we enforce them.
- Paid plans are monthly subscriptions, priced in US dollars. Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar sells the subscription to you, takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues receipts. Polar's own terms also apply to the purchase. We never see your card details.
- If we change a paid plan's price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to you.
- Cancellation and refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.
Closing accounts
You can stop using TigerUp at any time. To delete your account and its data, email support@tigerup.dev.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or systems at risk, or goes unpaid. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. For serious abuse, we may act straight away. If we close your account when you haven't broken these terms, we'll refund any paid time you haven't used.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, including losses caused by a check or an alert that was late, wrong or missing. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for TigerUp in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded, such as the Australian Consumer Law or UK consumer law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as TigerUp changes. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using TigerUp after that, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
